SECRET SMOKE - SECRET ICER - 5 BAGS

Pollen and resin extractor with Bubbolator style ice technique.

Provided with:

- electric washing machine 220W 135W;
- cloth pyramid to contain the raw material to be filtered;
- SECRET-ICE sieves for extraction available in the version with 3 filter bags of 25 - 45 - 150 micron,
- instructions in Italian;
- thermometer for temperature control;

INSTRUCTIONS

NECESSARY MATERIAL:

- ICE-WASHER:- 220V 135W electric washing machine
- Pyramid bag in 220micron cloth to contain the raw material to be filtered
- Filter bags
- digital thermometer with probe for temperature control
- Dry and previously frozen raw material (avoid plant material that could damage the pyramid bag)
- Bucket +/- 30cm diam.
- Blotting paper
- Sufficient ice to lower the water temperature to 4°C (about 2kg)
- Colander

WORKING PROCESS:

1) Place the "Ice-Washer" on an elevated surface and the bucket on the ground. Introduce the filter bags into the bucket, respecting the order. The finest filter bag must be inserted into the bucket first and then the others.
2) Introduce the digital thermometer probe inside the "Ice-Washer"
3) Fill the "Ice-Washer" halfway with cold water. Introduce ice. Turn on the Ice-Washer to facilitate the melting of the ice until the desired temperature is reached (recommended around 4°).
4) Fill the pyramid bag (max 500g) with the previously frozen raw material. Introduce the bag into the "Ice-Washer", close the lid and program the time (from 3min. to 8min.).
5) Once the programmed time is over, remove the pyramid bag. Allow the water to drain inside the ICE WASHER by gently squeezing the bag.
6) Lower the water outlet pipe so that it flows into the bucket, then reposition the pipe.
7) Remove the first filter bag and squeeze it gently to let the excess water flow out. In this first bag there will be no pollen or resin crystals, but only residues.
8) Extract the second bag, with a slow movement from top to bottom, in and out of the water, try to bring the crystals together in the center of the bag. This phase is very important to prevent the crystals from dispersing.
9) Gently squeeze the filter bag. Wrap with absorbent paper, from the outside, the part where the crystals have concentrated to facilitate the absorption of excess humidity. If you have multiple filter bags, repeat steps 8 and 9.

The extracted crystals should be placed inside a strainer, use a spoon to press the material obtained against the mesh in order to filter the crystals onto a sheet of absorbent paper.
This process serves to extract excess moisture and ensure drying
effective.
Leave to dry for 48 hours in the shade, at room temperature. This phase is very important for the quality of the final product which, once dry, can be pressed.
Through the first wash it is possible to extract most of the crystals.
It is recommended to repeat steps 4 to 9, with the same raw material, in order to extract the maximum quantity of crystals.
It is also possible to filter the same water several times.
Wash filter bags with ice water as soon as you finish using them
prevent the crystals from sticking to the walls, and you can also wash the bags
with alcohol (96%).
